Hello Sailor was created in 2023, to meet the needs of captains frustrated by a lack of sailing yacht knowledge in the crew recruitment world. We noticed sailing yacht captains complaining that they were being sent unsuitable CVs when they had specified the need for S/Y familiar crew, and equally, sailing yacht crew were struggling to find a recruiter who really understood what they were looking for in their next S/Y role.
With years of experience crewing onboard sailing superyachts, and a background working as a highly successful senior recruitment consultant at an established crew agency, Hello Sailor is perfectly placed to match fantastic crew to their next sailing yacht.

My name is Jessica Thomas-Green, and I am the founder of Hello Sailor. I spent my childhood sailing dinghies in Portland Harbour in the UK - the location of the 2012 Olympics sailing and windsurfing. After a couple of years spent working as a dinghy sailing instructor in my teens, I started working on superyachts in 2010.
I spent the next 11 years sailing the world on a variety of incredible sailing yachts, ranging from 24m minimaxis to 46m world cruisers. I gained my Yachtmaster Ocean qualification along the way, and worked in a variety of roles including chief stewardess, deckhand, chef and race crew. Highlights included two summers doing the classic yacht racing circuit in the Mediterranean, cruising the South Pacific islands and New Zealand, and sailing around stunning Scandinavia.
I made the move to land permanently in 2021, settling down in beautiful Mallorca, where I now live with my husband and our baby. In my spare time I enjoy kitesurfing, snowboarding, hiking in the mountains, learning languages and renovating our house.
Bailey, our rescue dog, is my faithful companion, colleague and morale booster. She is always on hand for a cuddle, or to remind me to take a well-earned break from work to play tennis ball or tug with her.
Like most golden retrievers, Bailey loves walks and treats - I find that following her example always boosts my mood.
She also takes a starring role in plenty of Hello Sailor social media!
Rachel
Rachel Griffin is Hello Sailor’s superstar Resourcer. Rachel’s main role is to check references and source great candidates for our open vacancies, so you may well find yourself chatting to Rachel either on the phone or in a message!
Rachel grew up next to the Thames river in the UK, and she dinghy sailed and rowed as a child on reservoirs back in England. Rachel worked on yachts for several years, including stewardess roles onboard 59m and 30m S/Ys.
Having worked in recruitment in London, working in crew recruitment was a natural step for Rachel when she decided to leave yachts and settle in Mallorca with her family. Having worked together at a previous company, Jessica and Rachel are delighted to have joined forces again here at Hello Sailor!
