Engineer, 33m performance S/Y

Hello Sailor are looking for a sole engineer

Open to engineer/chef or engineer/stewardess couples

New build private 33m high performance S/Y

Start date and location: November (flexible until January), South Africa

Itinerary: Regattas and owner trips in the Med/Caribbean for the first couple of years, with a worldwide itinerary on the cards for the future

Qualifications needed: AEC1 minimum, with any further engineering or sailing qualifications advantageous

Skills needed: Must be a well-rounded practical yacht engineer with great problem solving and maintenance abilities, as well as a strong sailor. Watersports enthusiasts preferred!

Experience needed: Minimum 2.5 years on S/Ys, with experience on similar size performance sailing yachts. An engineering and/or sailing background would be preferred but isn’t a dealbreaker

Details:

This new build sailing yacht is looking for a sole engineer to join the crew of 5, to see out the build in South Africa and then launch into the exciting program of racing and eventual world wide cruising. As well as taking care of all the engineering, the engineer will be required to assist on deck and will need to be a good sailor. The ideal candidate will be sporty, active, physically fit and upbeat, and will have prior yachting experience on similar size S/Ys. There is a good package on offer for the right candidate, with a generous 2 months of annual leave. This is a great opportunity to join a tight knit team and contribute to an exciting new build project.
