Mate/Engineer, 25m explorer S/Y

Hello Sailor are looking for a mate/engineer

27m private explorer sailing yacht

Open to mate/engineer and deck/stew, or mate/engineer and chef/stew, couples

Start date and location: July 2026, in Chile

Itinerary: Cruising the Falklands, South Georgia, Antarctica and Patagonia for the next year or so

Qualifications needed: The mate/engineer must have the YMOS, and ideally AEC, certifications.

Skills needed: Must be a strong sailor with very good mechanical and electrical engineering skills, as well as good tender driving, watch keeping and deck operations abilities

Experience needed: Must have at least 2 years experience working on deck on 20m+ sailing monohulls, with high latitude cruising experience advantageous. Candidates with a sailing background are preferred.

Details:

This 25m explorer sailing yacht is looking for an experienced mate/engineer to join the crew of 4. This would suit a crewmember with experience running smaller vessels as a captain/engineer. This is an amazing opportunity for a very adventurous mate/eng to commit to a very busy, but rewarding, program. There is a good package, with generous leave allowance, on offer for the right person.
